Kushinagar Incident: People shuddered to see 13 dead bodies at once
UTTAR PRADESH:A painful accident happened on Wednesday night in Kushinagar district of Uttar Pradesh. There was mourning in the marriage house due to the accident. There was shouting everywhere. In fact, 13 people died in an accident on Wednesday late night during a marriage ceremony in Naurangiya village of Nebua Naurangiya police station area of the district. The accident happened when the slab of the well broke during the ritual. The dead included women, teenagers and girls. More than a dozen people are seriously injured, they have been admitted to the hospital. The rescue work continued till late night on the fear of more people in the well. According to the information, during the ritual of turmeric pot on Wednesday night, suddenly the slab of the well broke and more than 25 women, girls and children fell into the well. Two of the dead could not be identified. There was mourning in the village after the incident.
- There was a commotion in the wedding house. On information, the police came and along with the people around, pulled everyone out of the well. There was an outcry from the village to the district hospital.
- Commissioner, DIG, DM, SP reached the spot and inquired about the relief work. He has also assured to provide all possible help to the victim’s family.
- According to the information received about the incident, before the marriage of Amit Kushwaha, son of Parmeshwar Kushwaha, a resident of School Tola in Naurangiya village, the ritual of turmeric was being performed late on Wednesday night.
- The Matkod (pre-marriage ceremony) was going on in front of the well located about 100 meters away from the house. The well near which the program was going on was closed by making RCC slab.
- During the ritual, a large number of women, girls and girls stood on the slab made on the well. The slab suddenly broke and the women, girls and girls standing on it got trapped in the well. The well is very deep.

After the incident, many people including Prince and Ravi Shankar of the village did not care for their lives and got down in the deep well amidst the darkness. One by one, women, girls and girls started taking out. Six people could be pulled out. Meanwhile the police also came. According to the villagers, 25 women, girls and girls were pulled out of the well in the presence of the police. Several injured have been admitted to the hospital. All these are being treated. According to doctors, the condition of some remains critical.
