WHO chief said that Corona may end in 2022, but this work will have to be done
New Delhi: Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director General of the World Health Organization (WHO), has once again reiterated that we can eliminate Corona (Covid-19) in 2022. But for this the world will have to do some collective work together. Giving a message on the occasion of New Year, the WHO chief said that our world is entering the third year of this pandemic. In such a situation, even today it remains a challenge for us. He said that in 2022 we can easily eliminate Corona, but for this we have to first eliminate inequality.
The inequality that WHO chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has talked about means inequality in the world regarding Corona. That is, on the one hand, rich countries are fighting against Corona effectively on the basis of resources, while on the other hand even 10 percent of the population in poor countries has not got the vaccine till date.
Can’t eliminate corona without eliminating inequality.
Gebreyesus said that we all know that no country is out of the epidemic. Although today we have better technology and resources available to prevent and treat COVID-19, yet we are not able to eliminate it. The biggest reason for this is inequality. The more inequality there is in the world, the more we will be affected by the risk of this virus. We cannot eliminate it until we eliminate inequality.
Be prepared for the upcoming pandemic.
Referring to the risks of Kovid, Tedros said that next year the world will not only fight Corona but it will also have to deal with many other health-related problems. He said that due to corona, routine vaccine is not available to lakhs of people. People are not going to the hospital for family planning. Apart from this, there has also been a hindrance in the treatment of many diseases. He cautioned that the world needs to be ready to help in the upcoming pandemic.
