The new captain of India’s T20 team, Suryakumar Yadav, had a chance to reach number one in the rankings by performing strongly in this series, but he failed in it. Suryakumar remains at the second position while Australia’s left-handed stormy opener Travis Head is at the first position.

Suryakumar had scored 92 runs in three T20 matches against Sri Lanka. He was the highest run scorer for India in the series, but he did not benefit from it. India’s young opening batsman Yashasvi Jaiswal has moved up two places in the rankings after scoring 80 runs in three matches. Yashasvi has gained two places and has come at fourth position. Due to his progress, Pakistan’s Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan suffered losses.

Babar has now slipped one place to fifth place. Whereas Mohammad Rizwan has come at sixth position. India’s Rituraj Gaikwad is at number eight. He was not selected in the T20 series for the Sri Lanka tour. Apart from Suryakumar, Yashasvi and Gaikwad, there is no other Indian in the top-10. The team’s second opening batsman Shubhman Gill has also made huge gains. He has moved up 16 places to number 21. India’s Ravi Bishnoi has also entered the top-10 in bowling.
