Mohammed Shami to Pay Wife Hasin Jahan: A Kolkata court has ordered Indian fast bowler Mohammed Shami to pay 1 lakh 30 thousand rupees to his estranged wife Hasin Jahan. According to the court order, out of 1 lakh 30 thousand rupees, 50,000 rupees will be given as personal maintenance for Hasin Jahan and the remaining 80,000 rupees for the maintenance of his daughter.
In 2018, Hasin Jahan had filed an application in the court seeking a monthly maintenance of Rs 10 lakh, of which Rs 7 lakh was for his personal expenses and the remaining three lakh for raising his daughter.
His lawyer Mriganka Mistry told the court that as per the Indian fast bowler’s income tax return for the financial year 2020-21, his annual income was more than Rs 7 crore and based on that, the monthly income has been demanded. The demand for maintenance of Rs 10 lakh was not unreasonable.
However, Shami’s lawyer Salim Rahman claimed that since Haseen Jahan herself was making a steady source of income from working as a model, it was inappropriate to demand lakhs of rupees for maintenance.
Finally, after hearing both the parties, the lower court fixed the monthly maintenance amount at Rs 1.30 lakh on Monday. However, expressing gratitude for the court’s direction, Hasin Jahan claimed that he would have got relief if the monthly maintenance amount was more. However, there is no reaction from Indian fast bowler Shami yet.
After the Indian team’s victory against Pakistan in the Asia Cup in September last year, Hasin Jahan shared a picture of Hardik Pandya on social media, in which India won with a six, while on the other hand Shami was targeted.
