Corona deaths: ESIC covered 5,600 families will get lifetime pension
The maximum pension will be up to 90% of the wages received before the death of the worker
The families of more than 5,600 factory workers across the country who have been covered under the ESIC and have died from corona will now receive a lifetime pension. This pension will be paid by the Employees State Insurance Corporation (ESIC). An ESIC official said the scheme would benefit the family of an employee who died of corona by March 24, 2022.
They will get a pension up to 90% of the wages they received before the death of the worker. So far, an estimated Rs 44 crore has been spent under this scheme. The pension has been paid. Families who are not aware of any reason will still be able to avail the benefits of the scheme by applying.
So far 6,538 affected families have applied for pension under ESIC’s Kovid-19 relief scheme, out of which more than 5,600 families have been declared eligible for pension. Some applications are still pending. A total of 13,487 people have benefited so far. 5 State workers have benefited the most from the scheme.
Pensions are determined this way
If the company pays him Rs. 20,000 per month before the death of the worker. If the salary is paid, the family gets 90% of it i.e. 18 thousand rupees. Get a pension, which is given to wife and children. If the age of the children is more than 25 years, 60% of the deceased’s wife i.e. 12 thousand rupees. Get a pension. Those who have at least 35 days contribution in ESIC get the benefit of the scheme.
