As Ganguly turns 50, leading names in the Indian cricket community, including the likes of former Indian cricketers Yuvraj Singh, Mohammad Kaif and others, have tweeted to celebrate the icon’s birthday. Yuvraj went to his official Twitter handle on Friday morning to greet Dada, while also mentioning that he has been a great friend and an influential captain for Yuvraj. Kaif, on the other hand, mentioned in his tweet that Ganguly is his favorite captain and mentor.
“Happy Birthday Grandpa! You are a great friend, an influential captain and a senior from whom any youngster wants to learn. I wish you good health and happiness on your special day, lots of love and best wishes always @ SGanguly99 #HappyBirthdayDada, ”Yuvraj said.

Sachin Tendulkar joins Sourav Ganguly’s birthday celebrations
Meanwhile, Ganguly’s former Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) also shared a post on social media with the caption, “Special 50 for Maharaj”. Earlier on Thursday, BCCI vice-president Rajiv Shukla shared a picture of Ganguly celebrating his birthday in England with BCCI secretary Jai Shah and great cricketer Sachin Tendulkar. “Celebrated Sourav Ganguly’s 50th birthday. Wishing her a happy and healthy life ahead. SGanguly99 @sachin_rt @JayShah @BCCI, ”Shah said on Twitter.
Meanwhile, Star Sports India, the official broadcaster of Team India’s matches in India, also tweeted celebrating Ganguly’s 50th birthday. “Happy Birthday to the man who has been inspiring generations on the cricket field – Happy Birthday, @ SGanguly99 !,” said Star Sports. At the same time, Cricket Australia also wished the former captain a happy birthday by sharing a smashing 141 off 144 balls against Pakistan.
