IPL 2022 Auction: From Mohammed Shami to Trent Boult, these fast bowlers can get big bids in IPL auction

IPL NEWS:The much-awaited big auction for the 15th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will be held in February. Many players are expected to get a huge amount in this. They include fast bowlers from all over the world. Mohammed Shami will be the most sought after player due to his experience as well as his excellent bowling in both the powerplay and death overs. Apart from him, there are many such fast bowlers in the world who are eyeing the franchises.

Big bid can be made on these five bowlers:

Mohammed Shami: The in-form Mohammed Shami is one of the biggest fast bowlers in Indian cricket after Jasprit Bumrah. He has been consistently performing well in the IPL for the last three seasons. Shami is capable of bowling well in the powerplay as well as in the death overs. In IPL 2020, he saved just 5 runs in the super over. The veteran bowler has taken 58 wickets in the last three seasons with an economy rate of around eight. He was bought by Punjab Kings in IPL 2018 for Rs 4.8 crores. This time the price of Shami may increase.

Trent Boult: Former Mumbai Indians fast bowler Trent Boult will be all eyes this time in the auction. With no RTM card, Bolt could be seen playing for the other team. Mumbai team can bid big for them. His pair with Jasprit Bumrah becomes the most dangerous bowling pair in IPL. Boult has taken 61 wickets in the last four seasons at an impressive economy rate of around eight runs per over. Mumbai had bought him for Rs 3.2 crore, which may increase this time in the auction.

Josh Hazlewood: This tall Australian fast bowler was considered a specialist in the first Test. Hazlewood has made himself the most dangerous limited overs bowler in the last few years. He played a big role in making Chennai Super Kings the champions last season. Hazlewood is considered a clever bowler. They can bowl continuously on the same line. Mahendra Singh Dhoni would like to include him in his team again.

Kagiso Rabada: South Africa’s star fast bowler Kagiso Rabada has been brilliant as a powerplay and death bowler specialist. There may be competition among many franchisees to buy them during the auction. Rabada has played 50 matches and has taken 76 wickets at an economy rate of 8.21. Overall he has played 135 T20Is and has taken 311 wickets. He was last bought by Delhi Capitals for Rs 4.2 crore, which could go up to four times in the auction.

Lungi Ngidi: Another South African fast bowler Lungi Ngidi will also be in search of a good IPL contract. He has played 14 matches for CSK and has taken 25 wickets at an economy rate of 8.29. CSK bought him for Rs 50 lakh. This time he was not retained by the Chennai team. Their demand has increased after the arrival of two new IPL franchises Lucknow and Ahmedabad.
