In the Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday, a big decision has been taken for the elderly. The central government has decided to include all senior citizens above 70 years of age in the Ayushman Yojana.
Modi government has taken a big decision regarding Ayushman Bharat. Now all senior citizens above 70 years will also get benefit of Ayushman Bharat Yojana. It is known that under Ayushman Bharat PM Jan Arogya Yojana, you can get free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh per year.
Under this, every senior citizen above 70 years of age will get health insurance up to 5 lakh rupees. The central government has now abolished the age limit for this scheme. Briefing about the Cabinet decisions, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that there will be no cap on income. All senior citizens aged 70 years and above, irrespective of their socio-economic status, will be eligible to avail the benefits of this scheme.
4.5 crore families will benefit from this initiative of the government. Giving this information, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that it aims to benefit six crore senior citizens from 4.5 crore families with free health insurance cover of Rs 5 lakh. It has also been said that a new separate card will be issued to the eligible beneficiaries under this scheme.
It is known that the central government launched Ayushman Yojana in the year 2017. Under this scheme, the poorest 40 percent of the country will get free treatment up to 5 lakh rupees every year. Under Ayushman Bharat Yojana, treatment can be done in government and private hospitals across the country. Under this scheme, treatment up to Rs 5 lakh is absolutely free and almost all types of diseases are covered under this scheme.
