Gujarat Health Minister Hrishikesh Patel said that no loss of life has been reported. Not even an animal has died. Trees have been reported down. The situation will start getting better in Kutch by around 5-6 pm. Today, there may be strong winds and heavy rains in entire Gujarat. It may rain in Rajasthan as well.
Cyclone to weaken further by evening: Mohanty
Manorama Mohanty (Scientist, IMD) informed that the Very Severe Cyclonic Storm has crossed the coast between 10:30-11:30 pm. Now it has turned into a severe cyclonic storm. The cyclone is very likely to weaken further into a cyclonic storm by this afternoon, further weakening by evening. Now it will rain in the whole of Gujarat.
23 people injured, 24 animals killed
It was told by NDRF that 23 people were injured and 24 animals died due to ‘Biparjoy’ in Gujarat. Two people had lost their lives before the arrival of the cyclone.
