He was 99 years old and was recently included in the Forbes list of billionaires. Keshab Mahindra, who is worth $1.2 billion, headed Mahindra for 48 years. Now Anand Mahindra is the Chairman.
Keshab Mahindra, former chairman of Mahindra & Mahindra group and visionary industrialist, passed away today at the age of 99. He was supposed to turn 100 in a few months, but has passed away before that. Just three days ago, Keshab Mahindra got a place in the list of Forbes billionaires (Forbes billionaires list).
Keshab Mahindra is the uncle of Anand Mahindra. Keshab Mahindra’s wealth as per the latest figures was 1.20 billion dollars. He was India’s oldest billionaire and headed Mahindra and Mahindra for 48 years. He retired from the responsibilities in 2012.
Took over father’s business
Keshab Mahindra joined his father’s company in 1947 and became the chairman of Mahindra & Mahindra in 1963. He then stepped down as chairman in 2012 and was replaced by his nephew Anand Mahindra.
