Citroen launches its first electric car E-C3 in India, price in budget

Citroën eC3: French carmaker Citroën has launched its first electric car in India on Monday. This electric car is the electric version of the company’s cheapest car, the Citroen C3. It is named eC3. The new electric car will give tough competition to the country’s current affordable electric hatchback car Tata Tiago EV.
The starting price of eC3 has been kept at Rs 11.50 lakh. However, this price is more than Tata’s electric car. The top-end model of the new car goes up to Rs. 12.43 lakh, while the Tata Tiago EV is available with a starting price of Rs. 8.69 lakh.

29.2 kWh LFP battery will be seen in the electric car, once full charge will be able to run up to 320 km. This range is more than the Tata Tiago EV. The EV is powered by a single front axle-mounted electric motor, which develops 56 bhp power and 143 Nm of peak torque. Its top speed is 107 kmph. It also gets two driving modes, Eco and Standard, along with regenerative braking. 13 color options will be seen in the electric car.
How are the features of the car
Talking about the features of the electric car, it will get features like split headlamps, LED DRLs, 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, steering-mounted controls and four speakers. Electric car can be bought in 4 models. Its Live model costs Rs 11.50 lakh, Feel model costs Rs 12.13 lakh, Feel (Vive Pack) model costs Rs 12.28 lakh and Feel (Dual Tone) costs Rs 12.43 lakh. All these prices are ex-showroom.
Giving competition to 2 Tata cars
The Citroen eC3 is the electric version of the existing C3 hatchback, which is available at a starting price of Rs. 5.98 lakhs. The price of its top model goes up to Rs 8.25 lakh. The EC3 primarily rivals the Tiago EV. The C3 rivals the Tata Punch in the Indian market. Now only one car from Citroën has become a competitor for two Tata models. Currently, Citroën does not have a huge network in the country. But its cars are being liked a lot.
