Manish Sisodia reached Supreme Court against arrest, CJI said- 'You should go to High Court'

The CBI had arrested Deputy CM Manish Sisodia in the Delhi Liquor Policy case on February 26. Now Sisodia has petitioned the Supreme Court against his arrest. According to sources, the matter will be heard in the Supreme Court at 3.50 pm.

Sisodia’s lawyer Abhishek Manu Singhvi has requested the Chief Justice to hear the matter soon. On that, the CJI said, he should approach the High Court or adopt other legal options. However, on Advocate Singhvi’s request, the Chief Justice said that the hearing would be held after some time.

On the other hand, CBI has started questioning Manish Sisodia. The CBI has prepared a long list of questions for Sisodia. This is the first time Sisodia is being questioned after his arrest. According to sources, the CBI has once again started a fresh investigation.

Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia, who was arrested on Monday (February 27) in connection with the Excise Policy scam, has been sent to five-day custody. Delhi’s Rouse Avenue court sought his five-day custody, after which special judge M.K. Nagpal has remanded Sisodia in custody till March 4.

While remanding him to CBI custody, the judge remarked, he had joined the investigation twice earlier but he could not answer most of the questions during the interrogation and some documentary evidence against him had surfaced due to the statements of his subordinates. In such a situation, a proper fair inquiry becomes necessary to obtain valid answers to the questions asked from them. That is why the court is going to send him to CBI custody for five days.
