4 alive, 10 houses near the highway and 2 trucks also engulfed in flames; Explosions were heard far and wide

An accident took place between an LPG tanker and a trailer on National Highway-8 in Ajmer, Rajasthan near Ranibaug Resort at 12.30 pm on Thursday night. The accident was so horrific that a nearby 500 meter area became a ball of fire. In the accident, 3 people were burnt alive, while one more succumbed to his injuries during treatment. Some two-wheelers including two trucks passing on the highway were also engulfed in flames. Heavy explosions were heard after the fire.


The deceased included the driver of the tanker and the driver of the trailer carrying the marble blocks. 4 people are reported to be seriously injured. Three of these have been referred to JLN Hospital, Ajmer. On the other hand, fire spread to surrounding areas including Misripura and Garib Nawaz Colony. More than 10 houses were also engulfed in flames. Around 10-12 houses have been evacuated due to severe fire. Due to the fire, many houses were cracked.

According to an eyewitness to the accident, the highway was jammed after the accident. Hussain, the watchman of Sura pole factory, who was present at the spot, said that the blast was so loud that the sound of the blast was heard far away. Collector Anshdeep and SP Chunaram Jat also reached the spot at 1 am on receiving the information.

According to information, the accident occurred when a trailer loaded with marble blocks and an LPG tanker collided. Meanwhile, another trailer was going from Mumbai to Delhi with soybeans. Its driver, Sundar Putra Muniram, a resident of Nokha, was passing through Ajmer Road when he too was engulfed in flames. Sundar was injured in this accident. Police are seeking information about other dead and injured.

The tanker was full of LPG gas


A fatal accident took place between a tanker and a trailer loaded with LPG gas late on Thursday night between Ajmer Road Bypass and Delwara Road Bypass. After that both the vehicles caught fire. A truck full of soybeans passing by was also engulfed in flames. All three vehicles were gutted as they caught fire. The fire also spread to the surrounding areas.

Traffic jam on National Highway-8

After the accident, National Highway-8 traffic has been jammed since last night. Traffic in both directions was stopped for a few minutes. However, the fire was brought under control after about two and a half hours at three o’clock in the night. After this one-way was started. The route was diverted by Dabur Sadar Police Station. The route was diverted till Friday morning. Police force is also deployed at the spot.

City Council Chairman Naresh Kanojia said the fire has been brought under control. Despite extinguishing the fire due to LPG gas, the fire continued to flare up intermittently.
