This has happened for the first time in the history of Indian cricket, when Team India has become the number-1 team in all three formats simultaneously. The latest rankings are announced by ICC every Wednesday. This was the first time since the completion of the Nagpur Test that the rankings have been updated, as the Indian team had a bumper advantage here. India now has 115 ratings points in Tests, while Australia has reached number-2 with 111 ratings points.

This is the first time in the history of cricket that a men’s team has been ranked No. 1 in all three formats simultaneously. The Indian team was already ranked No. 1 in the T20 and ODI formats. Before the start of the Test series against Australia, Team India was ranked number-2 in Tests but after winning by an innings and 132 runs in Nagpur, India became number-1 here as well.
