According to local people, the younger daughter of this family ran away from home and married a man much older than her age. His action shocked the family so much that seven members of the family, including the girl’s father, committed suicide by jumping into the Bhima river.
Police are trying to find out the cause of death
The police have registered an accidental death report and started investigation. According to the police, prima facie it appears to be a case of suicide. However, the real cause of death of all these people of the same family can be clarified only after investigation.
Police said that among the dead, the names of four people are Mohan Uttam Pawar, Sangeeta Mohan Pawar, Rani Sham Phulware, Sham Phulware. The family left Nikhoj village in a vehicle after 11 pm on Tuesday, January 17. Since then there was no trace of him. His car was found near the Bhima river near Pargaon border of Daund taluk on the Shirur-Chaufula road, after which the police started searching for him in the river.
The police said that on January 18, a dead body of a woman was found in the river. Then on January 20, 21 and 22, three dead bodies were found. After this, the bodies of 3 more missing children were found on Tuesday, January 24.
