Terrorist attack in Turkey: Bag bomb detonated in crowded place, 6 killed, 81 injured; Suspected to be a conspiracy of female terrorists

All the injured were admitted to a nearby hospital


6 people were killed in a bomb blast in Istanbul, Turkey on November 13. 81 people are said to be injured. Police said the blast took place at around 4.15 am in a busy narrow lane. Media reports are claiming that the blast was carried out by a woman.

Al Jazeera, citing sources, claimed in its report that 3 people were involved in the attack. There were one woman and two youths. The report said that a woman sat on a bench placed on the street for about 40 minutes. After this, she left the bag in a crowded place. A few minutes later there was an explosion. The bag is believed to contain a bomb.

Fear of terrorist attacks

Turkish Vice President Fuat Okte called the explosion a terrorist attack. He also said that the perpetrator of the blast was a woman. As soon as the incident was reported, police, fire brigade and rescue team reached the spot. All the injured were admitted to a nearby hospital.


A police officer said – We have cordoned off the entire area. The search for the attackers is on. Four people died on the spot in the blast. 2 people lost their lives during the treatment. CCTV footage is being scrutinized for details of the entire matter.

In the viral video, people are running away in fear

Many videos are going viral on social media after the blast. In one video, several people are walking down the street when a loud blast goes off in the street. People entering the street immediately start running out. In this video, it can be clearly seen that after the blast, smoke and fire are being seen.

The accused woman belongs to an extremist left-wing organisation


An Al Jazeera report claims that the woman suspected of carrying out the blasts is a member of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party. The party is a Kurdish extremist left-wing organization. It was built in 1984. Since the 1990s, it has started spreading terrorism. It is mostly active in northern Iraq and south-eastern Turkey. Its aim was to establish an independent Kurdish state in southeastern Turkey.
