What steps did the government take against the culprits of the Morbi tragedy? The High Court sought an answer

Ahmedabad: The Gujarat High Court has filed a suo moto in the case of Julto Pul accident in Morbi, Gujarat. Also notices have been sent to the officials of the state government including Home Department, Urban Housing, Morbi Municipality, State Human Rights Commission. The court has strictly ordered the state government to submit a report of the entire incident to the court within a week. The next hearing will be held on November 14.


According to a report, the Chief Justice of Gujarat High Court believes that this was a shocking incident in which many people died. It is worth mentioning that more than 135 people lost their lives on October 30 when more than capacity pilgrims gathered on the suspension bridge in Morbi. Not only Gujarat but the country was shaken by this tragedy. The state government was running.

After the relief work, action was taken against the culprits by the system of taking action. However, now the Gujarat High Court has sought an answer from the government in this matter. The High Court has ordered to submit a report within 10 days on the action taken by the Gujarat government against the culprits in the Morbi tragedy. The next hearing in this matter will be held on November 14. It is worth mentioning that recently former Chief Minister Shankar Singh Vaghela had written a letter to the High Court and requested to file a suo moto in this matter regarding the bridge collapse incident.


On 30th October, the suspension bridge of Morbi collapsed

The suspension bridge of Morbi collapsed on Sunday night, October 30. As it was Sunday holiday and Diwali vacation, 500 people arrived to visit this suspension bridge. It is claimed that more than 400 people were present on the suspension bridge. Many pilgrims arrived with their families to see the bridge. Many of them were taking selfies and clicking photos when suddenly the suspension bridge collapsed and 400 people fell into the Machhu river.


135 people died in this accident

As soon as the incident was reported, the rescue workers as well as the teams of NDRF, SDRF reached the spot. In this accident, three wings of the army including NDRF, SDRF, Army, Navy and Air Force conducted a search-operation for three days. More than 15 lifeboats were constantly searching for passage. 135 people died in the Morbi tragedy so far. Officials including Chief Minister, Home Minister reached the spot. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Modi was visiting Gujarat, so PM Modi met the victims of the Morbi disaster the next day.
