National Unity Day 2022 : Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Jayanti

Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel jayanti 2022 , Ekta Diwas: The country will celebrate the 147th birth anniversary of iron man Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on October 31. After India gained independence, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel played an important role in uniting the entire nation in a thread of unity. This is the reason why Vallabhbhai Patel’s birth anniversary is celebrated as National Unity Day in the country. National Unity Day was celebrated for the first time in 2014.
Sardar Patel was also the country’s first Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister after independence. The Modi government is once again preparing to celebrate Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s birth anniversary on a grand scale. On Sardar Patel’s birth anniversary, Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself will visit Kevadia in Gujarat and address the Unity Day program organized there. The Statue of Unity is located in Kevadia itself. Apart from this, the Prime Minister will also address the IAS probationers. Sardar Patel was a crucial figure in maintaining the continuity of the Indian Civil Service.
Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel was born on 31 October 1875 in Nadiad, Gujarat. He went to London to study as a barrister and came back to practice law in Ahmedabad. Inspired by Mahatma Gandhi’s ideas, he participated in India’s freedom movement.
A 182 m (597 ft) tall iron statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel (Statue of Unity) was erected in front of the Sardar Sarovar Dam on the Narmada in Gujarat. This is the tallest statue in the world. It was dedicated to the nation on 31 October 2018. The height of the Statue of Liberty is only 93 meters.
