For the first time any electric luxury car was assembled in India
Mercedes-Benz has recently launched the Mercedes-AMG EQS 53 4Matic+ as a CBU model while the EQS 580 is assembled in India so that implies a lower price. This is the first time any electric luxury car has been assembled in India and is also a big push for ‘Make in India’. The EQS 580 is manufactured at the Mercedes-Benz plant in Pune.
15 minutes charging time is enough
In terms of charging, the EQS 580 requires just 15 minutes of quick charge to get a range of 260km while the EQS is also the most efficient EV currently on sale in India.
Such are the features
Features-wise, the EQS 580 gets the trademark HyperScreen with multiple screens along with screens for the driver plus passenger and also a central display. The screen covers the entire width of the dashboard. Then you get luxury features like head-up display, Burmester audio system, massage seats and more. The EQS will also be offered with rear-wheel steering that enables it to cut turning circles and increase the car’s agility.
Price-wise the EQS 580 is even lower than the S-Class with petrol and diesel in locally assembled form while the CBU is massively cheaper than the EQS. This is also the first time the EQS is assembled outside of Germany.
Being part of Mercedes-Benz’s bespoke EQ brand, the shape and design of the car is also different.
