Lumpy virus has caused havoc in Gujarat. Lumpy virus infection in Gujarat is continuously increasing to an alarming extent. Lumpy disease has spread in a total of 20 districts of South Gujarat, Central Gujarat, Saurashtra and Kutch. Lumpy virus infection has spread in cattle in 1935 villages of Gujarat. The highest number of lumpy virus cases have been reported in Kutch district. So far Kutch district has reported the highest number of cases at 37,414 (69%). Then the state government has come into action with increasing cases of lumpy virus. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel visited the worst affected area of Kutch and reviewed the situation.

Then Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has come into action regarding the increasing incidence of Lumpy and visited the most Lumpy affected areas of Kutch. The Chief Minister visited the isolation center located at Bhuj Kodki Road. During this visit, Isolation Center and Vaccination at Bhuj Kodki Road was inspected. The Chief Minister received information about the functioning of the system, social organization and the guards. After visiting 3 places, the CM held a review meeting with the system. In which Lumpy’s condition was discussed with the officials and there was dialogue about preventing the increasing cases of Lumpy.
Importantly, the infection of Lumpy virus in Gujarat is increasing to an alarming extent. Lumpy disease has spread in a total of 20 districts of South Gujarat, Central Gujarat, Saurashtra and Kutch. In Kutch, Jamnagar, Dwarka, Rajkot, Porbandar, Morbi, Surendranagar, Amreli, Junagadh, Banaskantha, Botad, Gir Somnath, Bhavnagar, Surat, Patan, Aravalli, Mehsana, Panchmahal, Mahisagar, Valsad districts Lumpy has engulfed cattle. 1935 Lumpy virus infection has spread among cattle in the village. 1431 animals have died so far due to lumpy virus. While 8 lakh 17 thousand cattle have been vaccinated. Kutch has reported the highest number of cases at 37,414. So 58 animals have died in Kutch
Most cases reported in Kutch district
Kutch district has recorded the highest number of cases with 37,414 (69%) cases, followed by Devbhoomi Dwarka district with 4108 (7.5%), Jamnagar district with 3559 (6.6%) cases. Talking about the new cases registered today, out of 1867 cases, the highest number of 373 cases have been reported in Kutch district. 318 cases have been reported in Devbhoomi Dwarka district, 349 in Rajkot district, 274 in Banaskantha district and 244 in Jamnagar district.
