Will not go to private hospital tomorrow: strike of more than 40 thousand doctors of Gujarat, more than 30 thousand planned surgeries will be stopped

More than 40 thousand doctors of private hospitals in Gujarat are going on strike tomorrow. Then more than 30 thousand surgeries will stop. Not only this, since private hospitals have also decided to close OPD and emergency services, tomorrow the patients of Gujarat will have to rely on government hospitals instead of private hospitals. The treatment of the patients who are admitted to the hospital will not be affected. A strike has been announced by the Gujarat branch of the Indian Medical Association on July 22 to keep the ICU on the ground floor.

The strike will be enforced strongly and strictly

After the directive given by Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation fire department to the ICU regarding the removal of glass debris, anger has spread among the doctors. Keeping the ICU on the ground floor is not scientifically feasible and a strike has been called on July 22 by the Indian Medical Association, Gujarat branch, in protest against the removal of glass windows. The strike by doctors will be enforced very strongly and strictly. More than 40 thousand doctors of Gujarat are going to go on strike keeping emergency and OPD services closed.

Emergency and OPD services will remain closed

Doctors in the state will go on strike on July 22. In which emergency and OPD services will be closed. So patients in emergency will have to go tomorrow instead of going to private hospitals or other government hospitals for treatment. According to the doctors, all the patients who are admitted to the hospital and their regular visits will continue. But new cases or admission of new patients and other treatment will be stopped. Thousands of operations have to be canceled due to the strike by doctors tomorrow on Friday. If there is an emergency, if an operation or surgery has to be done, it cannot be done in private hospitals.

Patients have to go to other hospitals for treatment

Ahmedabad Medical Association President Dr. Dilip Garhvi said that not only in Gujarat but also in the world, there is no ICU on the ground floor anywhere. Emergency and OPD services will be closed in all private hospitals in the state on July 22. Patients can seek emergency or OPD treatment in government or trust-run hospitals during the strike. There are several reasons why ICU is not on ground which should be understood. If the ICU is on the ground floor, the patient may be at increased risk of infection. The movement of patients’ relatives and patients coming to the OPD will also cause difficulty in the treatment given to the patient.

Corporation has data of all hospitals

The corporation has data of all the hospitals in which hospital the ICU is located. Yet the corporation is harassing all the hospitals again. Even in corporation run hospitals there is no ICU on the ground floor, ICUs are located on the second, third and fourth floors. If we are treated like this, it will be difficult to run the ICU to treat the patients in the hospital. In 95 percent of hospitals, ICUs are located on the second, third or fourth floor. The government will be aware of the decision taken by the corporation but the government needs to change its decision on the ICU directive immediately, otherwise ICU treatment will become impossible in 95 percent private hospitals.
