According to experts, this blood group is found in people who are deficient in EMM high frequency antigen. People with EMM blood group can neither donate blood nor take anyone’s blood.

The person in whom this blood group has been found belongs to Rajkot. Whose blood group was identified in Surat. Doctor Sammukh Joshi, a physician of Surat’s Samarpan Blood Donation Center, said that a 65-year-old man had a heart attack. This rare blood group has been found by testing his blood. We found out that he is the first person in the country who has EMM Negative blood group. Now he needs blood, so that his heart surgery can be done. But we don’t have fresh EMM negative blood for surgery.

Why is this blood golden in color?

This blood is the rarest blood type in the world, golden blood. Golden blood is found in only 43 people in the world. These types of people have to face many difficulties if they ever need blood. The International Society of Blood Transfusion has considered this blood group as EMM negative because EMM i.e. antigen in red blood cells is not found in that blood. This blood is also called golden blood. This blood is found in the body of people whose Rh factor is null.

When did you first get it?

Golden Blood was first investigated in 1961. An Australian woman was found to be bleeding during her pregnancy. The doctor thought that her baby would die in the womb because of Rh-null.

The first research on blood type was started in 1901 by Australian physician Coral Landsteiner. In 1909 he divided the blood into 4 parts. Which we commonly know as A, B, AB and O. He was awarded the Nobel Prize in 1930 for his research.
