Gujarat Rain LIVE Update – Heavy rain forecast for Gujarat till July 10, alert signal at 3 dams

According to the meteorological department, heavy to very heavy rains are expected in Gujarat from July 7 to 10. The Chief Minister gave an in-depth review of the disaster preparedness regarding the heavy rains in Gir Somnath, Junagadh, Devbhoomi Dwarka, Surat, Navsari, Valsad, Porbandar and other districts and gave necessary instructions to deploy NDRF and SDRF teams in the respective districts for relief operations in the near future.

    Central Gujarat on July 10, heavy to very heavy rains are expected across Gujarat on July 11. On July 12, Saurashtra and Kutch will receive rains with cyclones. Scattered rains in Gujarat have led to high alert in one dam, alert in one dam and warning in one dam. Three of the 206 reservoirs in the state have been given various alert signals. Sardar Sarovar Dam has a storage capacity of 1,43,919 MCFT of water, which is 43.08 per cent of the total storage capacity. The 206 reservoirs in the state have a storage capacity of 1,89,345 MCFT of water, which is 33.92 per cent of the total storage capacity. Sources in the Narmada division said that various alert signals have been issued as one dam has 90 per cent or more water storage, one dam has 80 to 90 per cent water storage and one dam has 70 to 80 per cent water storage. The usable water storage in the state is barely 22.56 per cent.
