This vaccine to protect animals from corona has been developed in Haryana, a state adjacent to Delhi. Haryana’s ICAR-National Research Center on Equines (NRC) has played an important role in developing this vaccine.

ICAR said that enokovax is an inactivated SARS-Cov-2 delta (COVID-19) vaccine for animals and the immunity from enokovax neutralizes both the delta and Omicron forms of SARS-CoV-2.

According to the ICSR, the vaccine contains inactivated SARS-Cov-2 (delta) antigens. It has Alhydrogel as an adjuvant. In such a situation, the animals that are considered safe for this vaccine include dogs, lions, leopards, rats and rabbits.
ELISA kit will detect antibodies
Apart from the corona vaccine, the Agriculture Minister also launched the Can-Cov-2 ELISA kit to detect antibodies against SARS-Cov-2 in dogs. This kit is specifically a nucleocapsid protein based ELISA kit.
