Meteorological department forecast in several states

The Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rains in 14 states including Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, West Rajasthan, Kerala, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Maharashtra, Jharkhand and Jammu and Kashmir. Capital Delhi and its surrounding areas have been experiencing rain since late night on Wednesday (August 28). The Meteorological Department has also predicted rain in several districts of Uttar Pradesh. Many people have been affected by the floods in Gujarat. So far 19 people have been reported killed in rain and flood related accidents. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has assured all possible help to the state government.

Thunderstorm and heavy rain in many areas

Rise in the water level of the Ganges

In Bihar’s Patna, 76 government schools in low-lying areas have been closed for the next two days as the water level of the Ganga crossed the danger mark. This decision has been taken for the safety of students and teachers. The dead body of a six-year-old girl was found in Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday.

Forecast for next three hours in Gujarat

Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has predicted rain with thunder in various parts of the state for the next 3 hours. In which heavy rain has been predicted in Kutch, Jamnagar, Morbi, Devbhoomi Dwarka, Porbandar, Rajkot, Junagadh. While Surendranagar, Amreli, Gir Somnath, Diu, Botad received moderate rainfall as well as Banaskantha, Patan, Sabarkantha, Mehsana Aravalli, Gandhinagar, Ahmedabad, Bhavnagar, Mahisagar, Dahod, Panchmahal, Khera, Anand, Vadodara, Chota Udepur, Bharuch, Narmada, Surat, Light rains are predicted in Tapi, Navsari, Dang, Valsad, Daman, Dadar and Nagar Haveli.
