Digital Desk, New Delhi. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the budget for the seventh consecutive time on Tuesday, July 23. Sitharaman announced special nine-point schemes keeping in mind the youth, poor, women and food providers in her 1 hour 23 minute budget speech. It has been announced to provide assistance of Rs 58.9 thousand crores to Bihar and Rs 15 thousand crores to Andhra Pradesh. Taxpayers who choose the new tax regime have also been given some relief.

1. Special focus on food providers

In the Union Budget 2024, Rs 1.52 lakh crore has been allocated for agriculture and related sectors. Along with this, the information of six crore farmers will be brought on the land registry. New Kisan Credit Cards will be issued in five states.

2. Women and girls are also taken care of

A provision of Rs 3 lakh crore has been made for schemes benefiting women and girls. Along with this, hostels and crèches will be built for working women.

3. Good news for the youth!

In the Union Budget 2024, two lakh crores have been allocated for five schemes related to employment and skill training for the youth.

Discount in education loan: Those who are not getting any benefit under government schemes will get education loan of more than Rs 10 lakh. The government will give up to 3% of the loan amount. Read full news

Internship in top companies: Along with this, the government will start a scheme to provide internship opportunities to one crore youth in 500 top companies. In this scheme, honorarium of Rs 5000 per month and one-time assistance of Rs 6000 will be given.

For those with first job: For youth joining their first job, if their salary is less than Rs 1 lakh, help of Rs 15,000 will be given in three installments in EPFO.

The loan amount given under Mudra Yojana has been increased from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 20 lakh.

4. What for the service sector?

In the budget, the private sector will be helped through government schemes. At the same time, a provision of Rs 3.3 lakh crore has been made to the companies through the National Company Law Tribunal. Additional tribunals will be formed to settle disputes. Additional tribunals will also be formed for recovery. A scheme has been announced for the creative redevelopment of cities.

5. What all became cheaper?

Cancer medicine, gold-silver, platinum, mobile phones, mobile chargers, electrical wires, X-ray machines, solar sets, leather and seafoods

6. Relief to salaried employees

In the new tax regime, income up to Rs 3.75 lakh is tax free, benefit of Rs 17.5 thousand. Tax exemption on family pension also increased from Rs 15 thousand to Rs 25 thousand

7. Budget to promote renewable energy

The Government of India is promoting renewable energy to deal with the effects of climate change and reach the target of net-zero emission. Under this, under the Suryaghar Free Electricity Scheme, one crore houses will be given free electricity up to 300 units every month.

8. Special help to Bihar and Andhra Pradesh

A help of Rs 58.9 thousand crores was announced for Bihar and Rs 15 thousand crores for Andhra Pradesh. Along with this, it was said that special schemes will be launched for infrastructure development in Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh and West Bengal.

9. Needy people will get permanent houses

New houses will be built for three crore poor families and middle class families under the PM Awas Yojana. Rs 10 lakh crore has been allocated for this. Along with this, rules will be made for regulation to promote rental housing.
