Rainy weather prevails almost all over the country. South Gujarat and East Rajasthan are receiving heavy rains, due to which flood conditions have arisen here. Yellow alert has been announced for rain in Delhi-NCR today.

Heavy rains have lashed almost the entire country. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the states most affected by the rains include Gujarat, East Rajasthan, Jharkhand, Kerala, Konkan, Goa, parts of Karnataka and North-Eastern states. Gujarat and Rajasthan are facing flood situation due to continuous heavy rain for last 3 days. The IMD has issued a yellow alert for rain in Delhi-NCR on Wednesday. According to the IMD, heavy rain is likely over eastern Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh and Odisha on Wednesday.
Flood situation in these areas in Gujarat
Gujarat has been experiencing heavy rains for the past three days, disrupting normal life and causing flooding in low-lying areas. All rivers in the state are flowing above the danger mark. According to IMD, heavy rain will continue on Wednesday as well. According to Gujarat officials, people have been shifted to safer places in Panchmahal, Navsari, Valsad, Vadodara, Bharuch, Kheda, Gandhinagar, Botad and Aravalli districts due to rising water levels in rivers and dams and flooding in low-lying areas. According to the Meteorological Department, Gujarat has received more than 300 mm of rain in the last 24 hours.
Heavy rains in Rajasthan
It has been raining heavily for the last three days in the eastern and southern districts of Rajasthan. Due to this, a flood-like situation has arisen in Rajasthan. Along with the two banks of the Luni river, the IMD has issued a red alert in view of the heavy rains. So the IMD issued a ‘yellow’ alert for light rains in Delhi NCR on Tuesday. Light rains lashed the national capital on Tuesday.
According to IMD, Delhi-NCR will have generally cloudy conditions on Wednesday. Also, light to moderate rain and thundershowers are likely. Winds of 30 to 40 kmph are forecast in Delhi on Wednesday, with the maximum temperature likely to hover around 34 degrees Celsius during the day.
Red and Yellow Alert in these states
In view of the heavy rains, the IMD has issued a red alert for many states of the country. A red alert has been issued for Gujarat, Konkan, Goa, South Karnataka, East Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, South West Bengal and Arunachal Pradesh. At the same time, a yellow alert has been sounded in North India’s Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Eastern Gujarat, Eastern Karnataka, Coastal Odisha, Kerala, Bihar, Sikkim, Meghalaya and Assam in view of heavy rains.
