Modi's guarantee works outside India also... Jaishankar said on the return of 17 Indians captured by Iran

Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar on Monday expressed full confidence in bringing back the 17 Indian crew members aboard the cargo ship MSC Aries seized by Iran. He said that Prime Minister Modi’s guarantee works not only within the country but also abroad. Jaishankar said that we have repeatedly demonstrated Modi’s guarantee in Ukraine, Sudan and during the Covid pandemic.

IANS, Bengaluru. Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar on Monday expressed full confidence in bringing back the 17 Indian crew members aboard the cargo ship MSC Aries seized by Iran. He said that Prime Minister Modi’s guarantee works not only within the country but also abroad.

Speaking to the media, the External Affairs Minister said, “This is a free guarantee from Prime Minister Narendra Modi that whenever you are in trouble abroad, the Government of India is there to take care of you.”

Jaishankar said, “We have shown this guarantee again and again in Ukraine, Sudan and during the Covid pandemic.”

Conversation with Iran’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian

Jaishankar on Sunday spoke to Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian regarding the release of 17 Indian crew members on MSC Aries. “We have asked the Iranian government to release all Indians and not detain them,” he said.

Jaishankar’s first priority
Jaishankar further said that Indian Embassy officials have held diplomatic discussions with Iranian officials on this matter. “I am getting some reports but I want our embassy officials to go there and meet the Indian team. This is the first priority for me,” he said.

Iran said they will help us- Jaishankar
“I am ready. Iran’s foreign minister responded to all my concerns and assured that he will understand the situation and help India,” he said. The External Affairs Minister acknowledged that the times to come would be very difficult due to the current geopolitical scenario.

Lots of challenges on the borders of different countries in Asia
He said, “When I look at the international situation as a foreign minister, today we have a conflict in Ukraine, a conflict between Israel and Gaza. We have been a tension country in the Red Sea region, in the Arabian Sea region. We have challenges in the Indo-Pacific region, we have a lot of challenges on the borders of different countries in Asia.”

Prime Minister Modi is a leader who has received global respect.
The Foreign Minister further said that in such times we need an experienced leader, we need a leader with global understanding who has global respect and such a leader is only Prime Minister Modi.
