On behalf of the team, Sunil Narine batted aggressively and scored 47 runs in 22 balls. Venkatesh Iyer also scored a half-century.
Sports Desk, New Delhi. RCB vs KKR IPL 2024: Kolkata Knight Riders once again dominated on Chinnaswamy’s ground. Shreyas Iyer’s team unilaterally defeated RCB by 7 wickets. The home team bowlers failed miserably to defend the huge total of 183 runs. Captain Shreyas Iyer looked elated after the second consecutive win in IPL 2024 and praised Andre Russell and Sunil Narine.
Shreyas Iyer said after the win against RCB, “We were in a good shape from the last match. Coming on the field and hitting some balls, we feel comfortable inside. The way Russell came and he realized that there was a lot of pressure in the wicket. Not much for the bowlers. He started bowling slower after that. The way Russell assessed the conditions immediately was eye-catching. Our interaction was amazing.”
The KKR captain further said, “See, when Narine comes to open, he knows that his job is to clear the infield. Today we were deliberating whether to make Narine open or not, but he Performed amazingly. In a way, it was easy to bat. However, there was a second pace in the wicket from the other end. We discussed this in the middle of the field and passed this information to the rest as well.”
KKR registered a spectacular victory
KKR cheerfully achieved the target of 183 runs given by RCB in just 16.5 overs. Sunil Narine along with Phil Salt gave a blazing start to Kolkata and added 86 runs for the first wicket in just 6.3 overs. Narine played a stormy inning of 47 runs facing just 22 balls. At the same time, Venkatesh Iyer, who came to bat at number three, scored 50 runs in 30 balls. Captain Shreyas Iyer also remained unbeaten after scoring 39 runs in 24 balls.
