IPL 2024: Coach breaks silence on Hardik Pandya's bowling-batting order against Gujarat Titans
Ahmedabad: After the defeat of Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League (IPL) match between Mumbai Indians and Gujarat Titans, various arguments were being made about the decision made in the match, when Mumbai Indians coach Kieron Pollard made an important statement on this issue.
Hardik Pandya was given the first over from the Mumbai Indians bowling team, while Bumrah was not. In the first spell itself, Hardik was badly beaten by the Gujarat Titans team’s batsmen. However, on this issue, batting coach Kieron Pollard supported the decision to start the bowling with Hardik Pandya instead of Jasprit Bumrah and also said that he supported the decision of captain Hardik Pandya in the match against Gujarat Titans in the Indian Premier League. It was a collective decision to send him in to bat at number seven.

On sending Hardik to bat at number seven, Pollard said it was not just a captain’s decision. He said that no decision is taken with complete autonomy, so we cannot say that it was his decision.
As a team we had our own strategy and also discussed the batting order. We take decisions as a team, so it is not right to say that Hardik took the decision. We make decisions collectively.
