An 8-year-old girl has died after a mobile phone exploded in Thiruvilvamala, Thrissur district of Kerala. The incident took place on Monday at 10:30 pm, police said on Tuesday. Police are investigating the matter along with forensic team and experts.

The girl was studying in the third standard

According to media reports, Adityashree, daughter of former block panchayat member Ashok Kumar, kept the mobile close to her face. Then there was an explosion. The girl was rushed to the hospital, but could not be saved. She was studying in third standard.

What did the police give as the reason for the phone blast?

Police say that the girl was watching the video for a long time, in which case the battery may overheat and explode. The mobile was bought three years ago. Its battery was replaced last year. The explosion was so powerful that the girl suffered serious injuries on her face, the fingers of her right hand were broken and her palm was badly burnt. He died on the spot.
