Fierce fire breaks out at Modasa crackers factory, 4 die alive
A huge fire broke out in a crackers factory in Modasa of Arvalli. Preliminary information has been received that four laborers working in a firecracker factory have been burnt alive in this fire. On receiving the fire call, the fire brigade rushed to the spot and started efforts to douse the fire. When the fire department announced a major call, fire teams from the surrounding areas also rushed to the spot.
A terrible fire broke out near Lalpurakampa of Modasa taluk on Thursday afternoon. A firecracker factory was burnt down here. An atmosphere of chaos was created in the wake of the fire. The fire spread further due to crackers inside the factory. Smoke started flying all around.
The fire department was immediately informed about the fire. Three fire tenders were rushed from Modasa and tried to douse the fire, but as the fire was not under control, a major call was declared by the fire department. So vehicles from Gandhinagar and Himmatnagar rushed to control the fire. On the other hand, a large number of people had gathered when the fire happened. A police convoy was deployed to disperse the crowd of thousands of people.
Laborers named Lalit, Ajay, Rambhai, Sajan died due to the fire in the crackers factory. Apart from this, two four wheels were burnt in the fire. Goods worth crores of rupees in the factory were damaged. Apart from this, traffic jams were witnessed on the Modasa-Himatnagar highway.
