Karnataka: Former CM Jagdish Shettar left BJP to join Congress, know why he got upset

The former Chief Minister of the BJP government Jagdish Shettar has resigned from the Hubli-Dharwad Central seat for not getting tickets for the assembly elections. Today, he has also joined the Congress. He has joined the party in Bengaluru Congress office. Jagdish Shettar resigned from BJP on Saturday. All efforts from the BJP to convince him have failed.
Shettar joined the Congress today in Bengaluru in the presence of Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and party general secretary Randeep Surjewala. Shettar has won the last 6 elections from this Hubli-Dharwad central seat. He comes from the Lingayat community and has a lot of influence in his area. He has become one of the big leaders of Karnataka. Jagdish Shettar has also been the state president of BJP and has also been the speaker of the assembly. Apart from this, he has been from BJP to the Chief Minister of the state.
It is being said that in an attempt to convince the BJP, Jagdish Shettar was also offered to be brought into central politics. Along with this, the party also offered him a post in the central government, but all efforts failed. According to a media report, BJP sources said that Shettar was told by the party to write a letter to party chief JP Nadda stating that he did not want to contest, but Shettar was angered by this and came in front of the media and denied it. The party is saying so. After their displeasure was revealed, the party stepped up its efforts, but nothing came of it. It is believed that Shettar’s departure will hurt the party in the state elections.
