Forecast of rain with storm in these 5 states of the country, here IMD has announced yellow alert

Weather Update : India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted rain with thundershowers at many places in Delhi-NCR and West Uttar Pradesh from today till April 20.

The forecast for rain has come out in the country once again. It is known that Delhi-NCR may receive light rain or drizzle today i.e. 17th April. Along with this, the sky will be generally cloudy. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast rain with thundershowers at many places over Delhi-NCR and West Uttar Pradesh from today till April 20. While the weather in eastern UP is likely to remain generally dry. The IMD has forecast light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning over Western Himalayan regions and surrounding plains during the next 4 days.

According to IMD, there is a possibility of heavy rain in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh on 18th. Himachal Pradesh may receive rain on April 18 and 19 and Uttarakhand on April 19. Along with this, there may be hail at many places in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh today. Hail is likely to occur in Himachal Pradesh from April 17 to 18 and Uttarakhand from April 18 to 20. Rain is likely in some parts of Maharashtra in the next 4 days.

According to the IMD, the maximum temperature has reached 40-42 degrees Celsius in the plains of North West India, Central India and East India. Heat wave has been prevailing in Gangetic West Bengal since last 6 days, coastal Andhra Pradesh since last 4 days and various parts of Bihar since last 2 days. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has announced the closure of all schools and colleges in the state this week due to scorching heat.

Orange alert declared in West Bengal-Andhra Pradesh

The IMD has issued an orange alert for heat wave in West Bengal and Andhra Pradesh. Heat wave may prevail in various parts of Punjab and Haryana on April 17. A yellow watch has been declared in this regard. Heat wave is likely to occur in various areas of West Madhya Pradesh on April 17 and 18. No significant weather activity is expected in the rest of the country.
