Metro rail has completed the journey to Hooghly river in 11.55 minutes. At the same time, Metro Rail General Manager P Uday Kumar Reddy was also present at the station. On the arrival of the train, Reddy performed puja at the Howrah railway station.

Trial run completed on underground section

Let us tell you that soon the trial run will also start on the 4.8 km underground section from Howrah Maidan to Esplanade. A railway official said that many difficulties were faced in completing this work. He said that overcoming all obstacles we managed to run the train under Hooghly river on Wednesday.

Metro will complete the journey in one minute

The metro will take less than a minute to pass under the river. A total of 10.8 km of this 16 km long railway line is underground. On the other hand, the depth of Metro’s Howrah station will be up to 33 meters. The metro rack crossed the Hooghly river at 11:55. Metro Rail General Manager P Uday Kumar Reddy himself was present on the occasion. Reddy prayed at Howrah station after the train arrived. Later, rack number MR-613 was also shifted to Howrah Maidan station. Terming it a historic event, the General Manager said that the trial run from Howrah Maidan to Esplanade will continue for the next 7 months and after that regular services will start on this section.
