Big relief for students of class 10 and 12! CBSE Board has made a major change in the exam pattern, which will come into effect in 2024

CBSC has changed the board exam pattern. According to the new guidelines students will get facility of MCQ in 2024 board exam.

Addition of MCQ type questions in board exams

According to the official notification released on 6 April 2023, these new changes are made keeping in mind the National Education Policy NEP 2020. The Central Board had earlier announced that following the vision of NEP 2020, it will include more competency-based questions in the Class 10-12 board exams. Competency based questions means students will be asked some questions which are related to their real life.

For class 9 and 10 CBSC will increase the weightage of competency based questions. In the academic year 2022-23 the weightage of these questions was 30% per paper but now in the 2024 board exam 50% of the questions are in the form of MCQs. Competency based questions will be asked in the form of MCQs which will be case study based. Competency based questions will carry 40% weightage in class 11-12, board exam 2024.
