Kolkata Knight Riders have replaced Bangladesh all-rounder Saqib Al Hasan with England’s explosive opener Jason Roy in the squad. Saqib Al Hasan has withdrawn his name from the IPL-2023 T20 cricket tournament. As per the IPL release, Kolkata Knight Riders have added Jason Roy to their team for the 16th season of IPL for Rs 2.8 crore. Jason Roy’s base price is 1.5 crore rupees. Saqib Al Hasan is the second marquee player after Kolkata captain Shreyas Iyer to be ruled out for the entire season.
Kolkata Knight Riders is a two-time champion team. Two of its players, Saqib Al Hasan and Shreyas Iyer, have been ruled out of the tournament while the team has instead included the only Jason Roy in the squad. However, there is no word on whether the team will include any other player in place of captain Shreyas Iyer or not.
Bangladesh’s star all-rounder Saqib Al Hasan has pulled out of the tournament due to family reasons. While captain Shreyas Iyer is also out due to injury. The team has made Nitish Rana the acting captain. The team thought that Shreyas Iyer would join the team from midway through but he has now been ruled out of the entire tournament. Iyer has been ruled out of the tournament as he will undergo surgery on a back injury.
