Anushka Sharma's trouble increases, no relief from Bombay High Court in TAX matter

Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma is currently in the news less about her films and more about controversies. The actress is currently in the news regarding the sales tax notice case. Now a new update has come out from the Bombay High Court in this matter.


Hindi cinema’s late superstar Anushka Sharma is known for her amazing acting. Anushka, who made her Bollywood debut opposite Shahrukh Khan’s ‘Rabne Bana Di Jodi’, has been in the news for the past few days for a different matter.

Anushka’s name is in discussion regarding a matter between sales tax notices 2012-13 and 2013-14. Some time ago, Anushka filed four petitions under the MBAT Act in the Bombay High Court against the sales tax notice. But Anushka did not get any relief.


The High Court refused to grant relief to Anushka

The Bombay High Court has refused to grant relief to Anushka Sharma. The court set aside the impugned order passed by the state’s sales tax department under the Maharashtra Value Added Tax Act for the assessment year 2012-16.


1.2 crore sales tax

For 2012-13, the Maharashtra government imposed a sales tax of Rs 1.2 crore on Anushka Sharma’s earnings of Rs 12.3 crore. In 2013-14, a tax of 1.6 crore rupees was levied on the 17 crore rupees he received. The report said that the actress may have received from award functions, advertisements.
