Another air disaster in the country, Army Cheetah helicopter crashes in Arunachal, 2 pilots searched
An army helicopter ‘Cheetah’ has crashed in Arunachal Pradesh. At around 09:15 am, the helicopter took an operational flight near Bomdila in Arunachal Pradesh and shortly thereafter the helicopter lost contact with the ATC. It was later reported to have crashed near Mandala, west of Bomdila.
A search was launched for the 2 pilots after the Cheetah helicopter crashed near Mandala, west of Bomdila in Arunachal. They were searched by army helicopters. The area where the helicopter crashed is inaccessible and densely forested.
A helicopter crash happened in Arunachal in 2022 as well
This is not a new incident of helicopter crash in Arunachal. Earlier in October 2022, a helicopter crashed in Tawang in which pilot Saurabh Yadav was injured and later died during treatment.
