Valsad: 3 workers died in fire after blast in pharma company, death toll may increase

A huge fire broke out after a blast in a pharma company in GIDC in Umargam taluk of Valsad. After which a part of the building collapsed. Three workers have died and several people have been injured in this accident. It is also feared that some workers may be trapped under the debris. There is a possibility that the death toll may also increase. At present, the rescue operation has been carried out by the fire department.

The news of another tragedy has come out from the district. A major accident has occurred at Van Petrochem Pharma Company in GID in Urumgam taluka. There was a sudden blast here late on Monday night followed by a huge fire. Suddenly a part of the company’s building collapsed due to blast and fire. Three workers have died and several people have been injured in this accident. However, there are fears that the death toll may rise. After this incident, rescue operation is being carried out continuously by the fire department. It is also feared that some workers are trapped under the collapsed part of the building. However, the reason behind the blast is yet to be revealed. At that time, the local police has also conducted an investigation to find out the cause of the blast and fire.

Three workers died

The incident took place late on Monday night at Van Petrochem, a pharma company located in GIDC in Umargam taluk. After the blast, there was a sudden fire and after that a part of the building collapsed. Three workers were killed and several others were injured in the accident. However, some workers are also feared to be trapped under the collapsed building. On being informed about the incident, the fire department team rushed to the spot and carried out the rescue operation. Following the incident, Valsad police including SP, provincial officer and Mamlatdar and GPCB officials also rushed to the spot.

The injured were shifted for treatment

The company was working at night and this incident happened suddenly. After the incident, people from surrounding units also rushed to help. Also the power company was informed about this and the power supply was stopped. So that the fire can be controlled. After this incident, 108 was informed and the injured were shifted to the hospital for treatment. Apart from this, the help of JCB was also taken to move the debris.
