NIA raids at 72 places in 8 states of the country: Action against Kulwinder Sidhu of Gandhidham, investigation into terror funding; Got a connection with Pakistan

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has taken a major crackdown on the gangster syndicate. The NIA has raided more than 70 locations in Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Delhi, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh. According to information, these NIA raids have been conducted in cases related to gangsters and crime syndicates. These raids have been carried out on the whereabouts of gangsters and their close associates in connection with terror funding. Gangster Lawrence Bishnoi’s close associate Kulwinder has been raided in Gujarat’s Gandhidham. According to sources, Kulwinder is a longtime Bishnoi ally. There is a case against him for harboring associates of Bishnoi gang. Apart from this, NI sources say that Kulwinder is associated with the international drug syndicate.


A person named Kulwinder Sidhu was investigated in Kidana of Gandhidham

The National Investigation Agency has investigated a person named Kulwinder Sidhu in Kidana of Kutch Gandhidham. Kulwinder Sidhu has been associated with Lawrence Bishnoi for a long time. Even earlier, Kulwinder’s name has come up in the case of sheltering the Bishnoi gang. Sources are saying that Kulwinder Sidhu is also connected to an international drug syndicate.

Many famous gangsters on NIA’s radar

Gangsters Lawrence Bishnoi, Neeraj Bawana, Tillu Tajpuria and Goldie Brar are already on the NIA’s radar. NIA has also questioned many gangsters in this matter. In October last year, the anti-terror agency NIA raided more than 50 locations in north India and Delhi. After this, the agency also arrested a gangster and a lawyer.

Several revelations were made in the interrogation of the gangsters

These NIA raids have been conducted simultaneously at all the places. According to NIA sources, during the interrogation of the six gangsters, the names of many more gangsters came up. The NIA is raiding the houses of the questioned gangsters and other places belonging to them, their associates. Sources said that the case of gangsters having contacts in other countries has come to light. There is a lot of terror funding in the name of Lawrence Bishnoi and Bawana gang in India.

Proceedings on the gangster’s nexus


In earlier proceedings, the NIA had interrogated all arrested gangsters under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA). After this a lot of information about Pakistan-ISI and gangster alliance came into the hands of NIA. Based on that, once again raids are being conducted on the hideouts of gangsters.

Raids were conducted at the residences of officials linked to PFI

Earlier on Saturday, NIA raided the houses of state office bearers of the Popular Front of India. These raids were conducted in many places including Jaipur, Kota, Sawai Madhopur in Rajasthan. A series of raids and prosecutions are being conducted by the NIA in cases of promoting hatred between religious groups and carrying out terrorist activities.

A terrorist-gangster-drug network was involved in smuggling

The investigation revealed that the terrorist-gangster-drug trafficker network was involved in cross-border smuggling of arms, bombs, explosives and IEDs like terrorist hardware through the interstate network. On the other hand, the NIA has announced a reward of Rs 15 lakh for information about Canada-based Sandhu. The NIA had on February 15 announced a reward of Rs 15 lakh for information on Canada-based gangster-turned-terrorist Lakhbir Singh Sandhu alias ‘Landa’, who is wanted in a terror case in Punjab.

Sandhu, a resident of Punjab, is absconding and wanted by security agencies in connection with the 2022 grenade attack on the intelligence headquarters of the Punjab Police in Mohali.


During the year 2022, NIA did the most work

In the year 2022, the National Investigation Agency i.e. NIA has arrested 456 people in special operations and punished 109 dangerous criminals by conducting several major campaigns. Out of a total of 73 cases reported in different parts of the country during this one-year period, the agency has received only 35 cases related to Jihadi terrorism. The number was 61 in the year 2021, which has increased to 73 this time (in the year 2022). This number of reported cases was 19.67 more in 2022 as compared to 2021. This means that this number of cases registered by NIA in a single year can be said to be the highest in the last several years.
