SSLV-D2 launching: ISRO's smallest rocket to go on mission today, 6 months ago there was a mess

The first test flight of this rocket on August 9 last year proved to be a failure. There were problems related to velocity while launching the rocket. After an investigation by ISRO, it was found that the rocket vibrated during the separation of the second stage, due to which the experiment could not be successful.

The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) is going to launch the Small Satellite Launch Vehicle (SSLV-D2) today i.e. Friday at 9.18 am. The smallest rocket designed to launch small satellites into space will be launched from the Satish Dhawan Space Center in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh. This is the second edition of SSLV.

During the flight of about 15 minutes, the rocket will launch three satellites into space, including ISRO’s EOS-07, US-based firm Antaris’ Janus-1 and Chennai-based space startup AzaadiSAT-2 satellite. According to ISRO, this can launch a 500 kg satellite into the low Earth orbit.

5 important things related to rockets

1-The total length of SSLV is 34 meters. It has two meter diameter wheels with a left off mass of 120 tonnes.

2-The rocket is equipped with three solid propulsion and one velocity terminal module.

3-In a tweet by ISRO on Wednesday, it was stated that its launch will take place on February 10 at 9.18 minutes.

4-The rocket will carry EOS-07, Janus-1 and AzaadiSAT-2 satellites of US-based firm Antaris.

5-The rocket will place the satellites in the low-Earth orbit at a distance of 450 km from the Earth.
