Jharkhand: Fire broke out in Dhanbad's Ashirwad apartment, 15 killed, many injured

Dhanbad Fire: 15 people died and many were injured in a massive fire in a building in Dhanbad city of Jharkhand. According to the information received, a massive fire broke out in Ashirwad Tower located on Shakti Mandir Road on Tuesday evening. More than two dozen families were trapped in it. Most of them were taken out with the help of the fire brigade team and administration. Till the time of writing the news, 18 injured were admitted to Patilputra Nursing Home, while 13 bodies have been sent to SNMCH. The fire brigade team has brought the fire under control after a lot of effort.
How did the accident happen?
According to eyewitnesses, the daughter of Subodh Srivastava, who lives in the apartment, was married. People from outside also came to participate in this ceremony. Many people of the apartment, including the family, were busy preparing for the wedding. Meanwhile, a burning lamp fell on the carpet in Pankaj Aggarwal’s house living on the lower floor. In no time the carpet caught fire. The fire spread slowly and engulfed the upper floor as well. Due to the presence of more people here, there was a stampede and due to the fire, three children, one man and ten women lost their lives.

More than two dozen people have been burnt in this accident. The condition of some is critical and the death toll may increase. In this incident, 52-year-old Sushila Devi, a resident of Hazaribagh, four-year-old Tannu Kumari and another died. Tannu’s uncle told that the entire family was ruined in this accident.

Ashirwad Tower is a residential as well as a commercial hub. There are about 70 to 80 flats here. The fire broke out on the fourth floor of the 12-storey building. It may be mentioned that three days ago, five people, including the doctor couple, died due to suffocation in the Hajra Hospital located a short distance from there.
