Former Gondal MLA Mahipat Singh Jadeja passes away: Deep mourning in Kshatriya society

Mahipat Singh Jadeja raised the issues of Saurashtra farmers during his MLA term


The entire Kshatriya community is mourning the death of former MLA Mahipatsinh Bhavubha Jadeja (87) at Ribda this morning. Mahipat Singh Jadeja, born in an ordinary farmer’s family, was elected as an independent MLA from Gondal. He was the top Kshatriya leader of Gujarat.


Mahipat Singh Jadeja raised the issues of farmers of Saurashtra during his time as an MLA. Today, when the funeral procession left from his residence in Ribda at 9.30 am, a large number of leaders of the Kshatriya community from the village and surrounding villages joined and the cremation ground. Mahipat Singh Jadeja’s last rites were performed and when his mortal body dissolved into the Panchamahabhut, the eyes of all those present became wet.


Some time ago, Bhagwat Katha was held by Mahipat Singh Jadeja family to P.Rameshbhai Ojha’s Vyasas and during the days of the Katha, a smoke-filled village was built. Mahipat Singh Jadeja had done ‘Jivetun Jagatyu’ a few years back. His children include Bhagirath Singh, Ramdev Singh, Rajendra Singh, Anirudh Singh and Jagat Singh and daughter Mansaba. According to known details, Mahipatsinhji Jadeja was taken to Olympus Hospital in Rajkot for treatment a few days ago. The ribs were back on the mend.
