New twist in Morbi bridge accident case: Jaisukh Patel now absconding accused, 1200-page charge sheet filed
Jaysukh Patel’s name has been added as a fugitive accused in the Morbi suspension bridge accident case. A charge sheet of 1200 pages has been filed in the case.
A new twist has emerged in the Morbi bridge accident case. A 1200-page charge sheet has been filed along with the statement of the investigating officer on completion of 90 days of the case. Jaysukh Patel’s name has been added as a fugitive accused in the case. Moreover, the names of 10 accused have also been written in the charge sheet.

A major tragedy occurred in Morbi on October 30. 135 people died when the suspension bridge collapsed. Then on 25th January, a hearing was held in the Gujarat High Court on the issue of Morbi Bridge tragedy. In which the state government submitted a reply to the court regarding the condition of the bridge. Meanwhile, Jaysukh Patel’s lawyer also showed readiness to give compensation in the court. The Gujarat High Court said that the government should carry out the necessary major bridge work on war footing.
In connection with the Morbi tragedy, the police have issued an arrest warrant against the owner of Ajanta-Orewa Group, Jaysukh Patel. Apart from this, the police has also issued a lookout circular against Jaysukh Patel. Jaysukh Patel had been evading arrest for the past one-and-a-half months and had ignored all summons sent for questioning him, a police official said. Jaysukh Patel, the owner of Aureva Group, will be considered an accused in the charge sheet. The charge sheet will be filed next week.
The FSL report made a big splash
Then there was a big explosion in the FSL report presented in the local court of Morbi in this matter. In which, it was revealed that the cables and bolts of the suspension bridge were cut and the bolts were loose, besides no training was given to the security guards and 3165 tickets were issued on the day of the accident i.e. 30 October. The prosecution presented evidence in this regard in the court of Principal District and Sessions Judge PC Joshi. A criminal case under Sections 304, 308 and 114 was filed against the agency responsible for repairing the bridge. Minister of State for Home Harsh Sanghvi said, strict action will be taken against the culprits after a thorough investigation.
