Love bird committed suicide in Tapi, family made her effigy and got married

Effigies of the deceased young man and young woman were made and married by their families. Deceased Ganesh and his lover Ranjana got married after their death. In Nizar taluka, this type of ritual is performed by the family as per tradition.


For the peace of the souls of these love birds, the leaders including Ganesh’s uncle Maganbhai Padvi and Ranjana’s grandfather Yuvraj Padvi decided to make a half-sized statue and get married according to customs. On Sunday, family members came to Ganesh’s house from Ranjana village of old Nevada village to carry his statue. Where a half-size statue of both of them got married and installed it on the outskirts of the village to pay tribute to the peace of the souls of both the deceased.


Rameshbhai Padvi said that the family felt that both loved each other. The work which could not be done for both of them before can now be done in this way. Due to this, after his death, the idols of both were married, we believe that this will bring peace to his soul. Regarding this, Kailashbhai Padvi said that the boy and the girl committed suicide by hanging themselves with the same rope. Their families have arranged this marriage for the peace of their children’s souls. The girl’s grandfather Bhim Singh Padvi said that the boy is related to our distant family. Due to this the marriage could not take place. So now both the family members have decided to get married.
