8 People were cremated together: In Rajasthan Chaumu, the family of two cousins met with an accident while returning from the darshan of Kuldevi.

The entire family of 2 brothers, residents of Samod city in Chaumu, has lost their lives in the Gamkhwar accident in New Year. 9 people including 8 members of the family have died. When all the dead bodies reached the village on Monday morning, family members, relatives and neighbors were left with screams. After completing the ritual, when 9 people got up together, everyone had tears in their eyes. Meanwhile, the markets of the city were closed. Eight members of the family were cremated on a single pyre, while one was cremated on a separate pyre. Chaumu MLA Ramlal Sharma and former Union Minister Subhash Mahria also attended the funeral.


A family of two brothers went to visit Kuldevi on New Year

Around 12 family members of Samod’s two brothers, Kailaschandra and Suvalal, took a pickup and went to worship their tribal goddess Jean Mata around 8 am on New Year’s Day. After seeing, all the people were returning home. Meanwhile women were singing mangal song. At around 4.30 pm, his pickup first collided with a bike and then collided with a truck near Gaurian More on Khandela Road. Twelve people died in the accident, including Kailas Chand’s two sons Vijay and Ajay, daughter Rekha, Vijay’s wife Radha, Suvalal’s two daughters-in-law Poonam and Anuradha, his grandson Aarav and granddaughter Nikku. Arvind, a youth from another locality who had accompanied him, also died.

Silence prevailed in Samod village


Information about the accident reached the village around 6 pm on Sunday. Those who heard were stunned. Only a few family members were told about the accident till night. Nothing was said to the women about this. The bodies were kept at the Chaumu CHC mortuary till late night. In many houses even the stove was not lit at night. When all the dead bodies reached the village on Monday morning, there was an uproar in the entire village including the family members. A mother who had lost her sons became insensitive. The traders of the town kept their shops closed on Monday. Hundreds of people, including people from surrounding villages, attended the funeral, with tears in their eyes.

Death of only brother of three sisters

Arvind Pingolia (22), son of accident victim Pradeep Kumar, was to get married in May. He was the only brother among three sisters in the family. Preparations for her marriage had started in the family. His uncle Manish said that on Saturday itself, the family members discussed Arvind’s wedding preparations. Arvind’s father Pradeep Kumar is a senior teacher at Pawta Senior Secondary School. Arvind completed his graduation. He was preparing for a competitive exam. Arvind used to work in a medical store in Samod.


Bought the pickup for scrap work

Ajay and Vijay, both cousins of Samod, bought the pickup vehicle together. Both of them used to earn their livelihood by doing scrap work. Babulal, a brother of Ajay and Vijay, stayed at home. He said that on Saturday morning, family members and neighbors went to the temple of Jeanne Mata for New Year darshan. Earlier, there was a program of darshan of Jinmata, but after darshan there, a program of darshan of Ganesha was also made. Ajay and Vijay worked as e-friends before Corona. When business came to a halt due to Corona, he started buying scrap and junk. Went by pickup only to save cost.
