Mulayam Singh Yadav Death news: Former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav was admitted in the Critical Care Unit (CCU) of Medanta Hospital. A team of experts was treating him. Samajwadi Party patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav was on life support system for several days. He breathed his last on Monday morning.
Samajwadi Party patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav died on Monday at Medanta Hospital in Gurugram after prolonged illness. Mulayam Singh Yadav, who was the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh for three times and Defense Minister in the Central Government, was called one of the veteran politicians of the country. Mulayam Singh was shifted to the ICU of Medanta Hospital due to severe difficulty in breathing. In the hospital, Mulayam Singh (82) was personally supervised by the Director of Medanta Group, Dr. Naresh Trehan. However, his life could not be saved as his condition deteriorated and Mulayam breathed his last at 8.16 am. Ever since Mulayam Singh Yadav was admitted to the hospital, his supporters and admirers were constantly praying for his better health.
Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav himself had reached Medanta Hospital. Akhilesh Yadav and Mulayam Singh’s daughter-in-law Aparna Yadav had received information about Mulayam’s health deteriorating in Lucknow, after which he reached Gurugram via Delhi on October 2 by a special plane. Before Akhilesh, Shivpal Yadav and Ram Gopal Yadav were present in Delhi only. Akhilesh along with his wife Dimple and children have also reached Gurugram. Akhilesh had come to Lucknow from Delhi on Saturday itself, but after Mulayam’s health deteriorated, he suddenly reached Gurugram again.
Born in Etawah and active politics of 6 decades
Born on 22 November 1939 in Saifai, Etawah district, Mulayam took part in active politics for nearly 6 decades. He was a member of the UP Legislative Assembly and Legislative Council several times. Apart from this, he also participated in the Eleventh, Twelfth, Thirteenth and Fifteenth Lok Sabha as a Member of Parliament. Mulayam Singh Yadav became a member of the Legislative Assembly for a total of 8 times in 1967, 1974, 1977, 1985, 1989, 1991, 1993 and 1996. Apart from this, he was also a member of the UP Legislative Assembly from 1982 to 1985.
He was also the CM and Defense Minister of UP.
Mulayam Singh Yadav served as the CM of UP thrice. He was the CM of Uttar Pradesh for the first time from 5 December 1989 to 24 January 1991, for the second time from 5 December 1993 to 3 June 1996 and for the third time from 29 August 2003 to 11 May 2007. Apart from these stints, he also served as Defense Minister in the joint coalition government of HD Deve Gowda in 1996. Mulayam Singh was also given the title of Netaji due to his all-touching relationships. Mulayam was known among those leaders who understood the pulse of the politics of UP and the country and was also respected for all parties.
