In a shocking incident in Katak city, Odisha, a 22 -year -old man was tied to a rope with two scooters and ran for two kilometers. Two youths were given such a punishment for not paying 1500 rupees on time.

Jagannath Behra, a resident of Cuttack, borrowed 1500 rupees from two youths and promised to pay back within a short time, but the two youths who could not pay the money at the time of the promise became agitated and decided to punish Behra. Two youths tied one of Behra’s hands with a long rope to two scooters and then made the scooters run on the public road. The matter was reported to the police and both were arrested during the day. Cuttack city Deputy Commissioner of Police Pinak Mishra said here that the accused were accused of wrongful imprisonment, kidnapping and attempted murder. Jagannath Behra’s hands were tied with a 12 feet long rope, the other end of which was attached to a two-wheeler. He was forced to run after her for about 20 minutes on Sunday from Stewartpatton Square to Suttahat Square, a distance of more than two kilometres.

Locals intervened and saved the young man


A video of this incident went viral on social media. At Sutahat Square, some locals intervened and rescued the young man. The youth borrowed Rs 1,500 from one of the two accused last month to perform the last rites of his grandfather. Behera had promised to pay the money within 30 days, but he could not pay so the accused punished him. The police have also seized the two-wheeler and the rope used by the duo.
