The matter reached the town Kotwali, the aggrieved wife lodged a complaint against the husband. The police charged the accused husband under sections of breach of peace and let the girl off with a warning.

According to the police, Preeti from Sihani hat area got married to Rahul from Vijaynagar in 2017. After the marriage, there was a dispute between the two and for the last three years, Preeti has been living in her pier. A petition related to the dispute between the two is pending in the court.
